The Brief
An Adelaide architecture firm needed a physical 1:100 scale model of a proposed residential development for a client presentation. They had the full 3D model in Revit but needed it translated into a printable format with the right level of detail.
What I Did
- Converted the Revit export to a watertight mesh suitable for FDM printing
- Split the model into printable sections with alignment pins
- Printed the structure in white PLA at 0.12 mm layer height for fine detail
- Assembled and lightly sanded for a clean presentation finish
The Result
The model was delivered within 48 hours and used in the client meeting the following day. The firm has since become a repeat customer for presentation models.
