The Brief
A drone enthusiast needed a camera mount adapter to fit a GoPro to their specific drone frame. Nothing off-the-shelf fit the mounting pattern, and the mount needed to be both lightweight and vibration-resistant.
What I Did
- Measured the drone's mounting points and the GoPro adapter dimensions
- Designed a minimal-material mount with integrated vibration dampening geometry
- Optimised wall thickness and infill for strength-to-weight ratio
- Printed in PETG for UV resistance and impact toughness
- Final part weighed just 12 grams
The Result
The mount has survived multiple flights and a few rough landings without issue. The client later ordered a second mount for a different camera setup.
